GS Art Zone publishes drawing tutorials, watercolor guides, and art supply recommendations. This page explains who writes them, how they are made and checked, how we handle mistakes, and where the money comes from. If you are deciding whether to trust a technique you read here, this is the page that should tell you.
Who Writes This Site
GS Art Zone is written and edited by Gurjinder Singh, an artist who has been drawing and painting for over a decade and who runs this site as an independent publication. It is not a content farm and it does not accept guest posts from agencies or link sellers.
Where an article covers something outside our own regular practice, we say so in the article rather than writing with false confidence.
How a Tutorial Is Built
Our step-by-step tutorials follow the same discipline every time.
- We start from the failure, not the subject. Before writing about hands, eyes, noses, or roses, we work out why beginners get that subject wrong. The tutorial is then built to fix that specific cause rather than to describe a finished drawing.
- Construction before rendering. Every tutorial establishes the underlying structure first and leaves shading and detail until last, because that is the order in which the decisions can actually be made.
- Each step image continues the one before it. A step sequence is meant to show one drawing carried forward, so you can compare your page to ours at each stage.
- Images are reviewed by a person before publishing. Illustrations that show the wrong number of fingers, mismatched steps, or anatomy that cannot work are rejected and redrawn rather than published. Our Disclaimer explains how our illustrations are produced.
- Measurable claims are stated as checks you can run. Where we say something like “the middle finger is about the same length as the palm”, it is because you can test it on your own hand in five seconds.
How We Recommend Art Supplies
Supply guides are the articles most likely to carry affiliate links, so they get the strictest rules.
- We recommend the cheapest item that does the job properly. Where a budget option is genuinely good enough, we say so, even though it earns us less.
- We explain why a product suits a task, in terms of the property that matters, such as paper weight, pigment lightfastness, or brush spring, so you can judge alternatives yourself.
- We name the situations where a product is the wrong choice.
- We never accept payment, free product, or sponsorship in exchange for a recommendation or a rating.
- No advertiser or affiliate partner sees an article before it is published, and none has any say over what appears.
How the Site Is Funded
GS Art Zone is free to read, has no paywall, and does not sell subscriptions. It is paid for by display advertising and by affiliate commissions on some product links. Those commissions cost you nothing extra. The complete disclosure is on our Disclaimer page.
We keep the commercial side and the editorial side apart deliberately. Advertising decides whether we can afford to write an article; it never decides what the article says.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we fix the article rather than deleting it or quietly leaving the error in place.
- Report an error to gsartzone7@gmail.com or through our contact page. Telling us which article and which step is enough.
- Factual errors and misleading illustrations are corrected as a priority. An image that does not match its step is replaced.
- Typos and small clarifications are corrected without a note. Anything that changes the meaning of a technique is noted in the article.
Keeping Articles Current
Drawing fundamentals do not change, but products, prices, and availability do. We revisit supply guides and any article that names specific products, and we update older tutorials when we find a clearer way to teach the same thing. Updated articles carry a revised date.

Comments are moderated. Questions, disagreements, and corrections are all welcome, including ones that say we are wrong. Spam, abuse, and promotional links are removed. See our Terms of Service for the full rules.
